Historic England are the public body that helps people care for, enjoy and celebrate England's spectacular historic environment.
In addition to the PLACES PHOTOS COLLECTION (see left) the Historic England website has access to a great many details including listed buildings, information on research past and present with very easy access to the latest research findings. e.g. as of 17 Oct 2018, there are immediate links on theier home page to a) Roman children's Vitamin D deficiency b) Reently discovered hidden potential archaeological sites revealed by aerial photography during the 2018 long dry summer, and c) the uncovering of unknown and secret memorials throughout England as a result of a recent appeal to the public.
